After 76 years in the same location, the Quality Shoppe is moving!

The year was 1935. Franklin Delano Roosevelt was president of the United States. Detroit defeated the Chicago Cubs in the World Series 4-2. Gershwin's poignant musical "Porgy and Bess" was all the rage on Broadway. Henrietta Leaver of Pennsylvania was crowned Miss America. And in a small town called Jacksonville in northeast Alabama, Rupert and Minnie Weaver opened the Quality Shoppe on the town square. The Shoppe was originally a general mercantile store serving the general needs of the residents of Calhoun County. It eventually evolved into a ladies' and children's clothing store; many Easter dresses were purchased at the Shoppe back in the day. In 1979 the current owners, the Johnson family, purchased the Shoppe, and transitioned its specialty into bridal and formal wear.

The Quality Shoppe is proud to have dressed generations in Northeast Alabama and beyond out of our current location in historic downtown Jacksonville. We aren't moving far -- just across the street to the north side of the square. Beginning November 1, our new location will be 101 East Clinton Street. It's a two-story pink building next door to the Village Inn. Same gorgeous dresses, same exceptional service, in a new home.

To celebrate this new chapter in the life of our business, we are having a moving sale! New in-stock arrivals -- wedding gowns, pageant dresses, formals, and more -- are 25% off through Saturday, October 29. Certain exclusions apply; see us for details. We are receiving new stock daily, so don't miss this fantastic sale!
